Apples and worms Pt.1

It is said that a week is a long time in politics.  With astrology in crime, for us today a long time is thirty-five minutes. Thirty-five minutes from my estimated time of the murder until the accused, Gerard Baden-Clay made a Face Time call on his mobile phone. A call, which I believe will lead to his downfall.

Allow me to share a possible view of events as they unfolded on that fateful night in Brookfield in relation to this Face Time call, a view taken from an astrological perspective and my opinion, nothing more.  But first the technological facts as we know them.

A Face Time call made from an Apple iPhone (face to face video and audio) is, I am led to understand, not like a regular telephone call, in so far as that it doesn’t use the standard telephone system.  The call connects via the World Wide Web (internet) and Wi-fi (wireless technology) to either an email address or a regular telephone number.

Such a call would be traceable due to the magic of modern technological advances.  Thanks to modern technology some data is recorded by the Internet Service Providers (ISP), although apparently it is doubtful that an  ISP or telecommunication carrier would store the audio or video footage.

From the time of the crime at 11.55pm on 19 April until 12.30am thirty-five minutes later there could have been any number of regular telephone calls from landline/mobile to landline/mobile, however the impact of making a video-call as opposed to a regular phone call is significant to us here.

You can place Face Time calls from supported devices (iPhone, iPad or computer using the Apple operating system) to any phone number or email address that is registered to the Face Time service.

  •  A single email address can be registered to multiple devices and a call placed to that address will ring on ALL of the devices simultaneously.

My alert button just went off…  Did yours?

A call placed to that address will ring on ALL of the devices simultaneously.

  • Another point of interest to me is that if the call were made to an email address rather than a telephone number, the video footage may be stored on the hard-drive of that computer system.

12.30am 20 April, 2012:

Police allege Mr Baden-Clay made a Face Time call to his father, Nigel Baden-Clay, which lasted 1.23 minutes. The time of the phone call was divined by converting the time stamp of the phone call from 2.30.25pm (UTC+0) and converted into Queensland time by adding 10 hours.

The Age of Aquarius is upon us!  The ruling planet of Aquarius is Uranus. In astrological terms Uranus has always represented free-thinking and modern technology in all forms, from the invention of the telephone and electricity; from sending rockets to land on the moon to computers and iPhone technology.  All these things and much more are the result of the ‘Uranus factor’ in an astrologer’s guide-book.

There is a shadow to the Uranus factor, as there always is in the binary world we live in.  Too much of a good thing is not always good for everyone. ‘New and exciting’ is not welcome at every door. We addressed the accused’s natal horoscope/wheel in relation to the planet Uranus earlier.

Today we take a snapshot of the heavens at the time of the Face Time call: 12.30.25am on 20 April, 2012. A call on a mobile phone is a communication on a piece of modern technology.  The relevant planet is the Aquarius planet – Uranus and so we turn first to see where Uranus is in the horoscope.

Uranus is 5 degrees Aries and in the second house of the horoscope (the house of material possessions).  We know already that the zodiac sign of Aries is ruled by the planet Mars – thrust and energy.  By putting Uranus and Aries and the second house together we get:

The agenda is about the possessions you desire; these possessions will be ones that help you lead the “free” lifestyle you desire. The energy of Mars accentuates the thrust. You may value money in the bank [cashing in of insurance policies perhaps] as that, which can buy you the freedom you crave.

I can hear Abba singing on the party-line now – Money, money, money!

  • I got to thinking, what could I do with this piece of ‘forensic’ information –  the Face Time call?
  • I wonder if it is possible to follow the ‘forensic astrology’ approach as we did in Hell and High Water to find the location of the body?  Can we follow a communication?

Thinks MM, I suggest that you create a scenario by combining cartography and astrology.

Like a dog on the scent I’m off and running.  Can you feel the lead tugging you along with me?  Here’s what I found:

Step 1.

Point A is the origin of the Face Time call and Point B is the location of the recipient.  I have drawn a red line from A to B.

Step 2.

Create a bi-wheel of the Face Time call and the birth wheel of the accused, Gerard Baden-Clay then flip the bi-wheel to be ‘in synch’ with the cartography map, North to the top of the page.  I have created a page for those who want to see this in detail.

In order to ‘do what I do’, I need to flip the bi-wheel vertically so as to have North at the top rather than the bottom – we need to have both maps ‘on the same page’; for astrology to be in-line with the cartographers map (step 1).  The two ‘maps’ need to be in the same format in order to work together – the map of the earth and the map of the heavens, in alignment.

Step 3.

Superimpose the inverted Face Time/Accused bi-wheel over point “A” with the centre of the wheel exactly over point “A” – home of the accused and scene of the crime.

You will note that I have extended the red line over the superimposed wheel to replace the original red line from point “A”, which is obscured and I have also extended the line to incorporate the outer wheel (coloured bright green).

Click on the map if you want to see this in better detail and it will open in a new page.

What’s on the thin red line?

The following is the astrological interpretation of the behaviour of the accused at the timing of the call.  A psychological profile of the caller, at the time of the call, in astrological terms.

Looking at the flipped bi-wheel, the most obvious intersection of this red line is exactly on the fifth house cusp (love given child/parent) at 8 degrees Libra (planetary ruler is Venus) and through to the opposite side – the tenth house cusp (love received e.g. from others) at 8 degrees Aries (planetary ruler Mars).

The inner wheel (the Face Time call) reveals an intersection with the green line between the Moon and Uranus with Mercury sitting at the left shoulder of Uranus.  With Mercury being the planet of communication it is the perfect position to be right where it is – right up close to the mobile phone at the accused’s ear.

As to the intersection of the Moon and Uranus, we know by now that the Moon represents our ‘needs’ and Uranus is the modern technology the ‘iPhone’ in this case. We have a story right there already, do we not and don’t forget all the planets are in Aries territory.

This is a very urgent phone call. I can feel him scrabbling to grab it off the charger, can’t you?

Turning our attention to the outer wheel (Gerard Baden-Clay birth wheel) reveals the red line is adjacent to his natal planet Uranus (modern technology) and look at all the other planets in that fifth house as well!  Pluto (power-full) Mercury (communication) and the Sun (all about me, me, me).

Just to top it off I’ve had a look to see if there are any midpoints of any great significance, which come up on the 8 degrees Libra point and lo and behold we have that naughty Goddess of Love, Venus creating an exact midpoint in Baden-Clay’s wheel with his Sun.  Sun/Venus=5th house cusp. We have the Sun illuminating ‘love’ relationships with the focus on love and attention.  When I say love I do not mean between a man and a woman necessarily.

There is one other important point I should make here and that is, that the fifth house in the horoscope relates to children and how one relates to them. In this regard, firstly the accused as an adult would possibly revert emotionally (an emotionally damaged inner child under extreme duress is likely to turn to his parents for answers before going anywhere else), however we cannot lose sight of the fact that we have been told that there are three little girls in the house.

I do not wish to go into any great detail here, other than to say that the accused could possibly have made a telephone call or calls in order to make arrangements for the care of his daughters, if he were to leave the house for any length of time.  But then again he may not.  I am just allowing for the possibility here.

We are aware that Gerard Baden-Clay has been accused of moving the body of his wife to the Kholo Creek area on that same night, before reporting her missing at 7.30am.

Who else could the accused call but his life companions, his blood-family.  Allison wasn’t going to take his call.  She was already dead.  Blood runs thicker than water in the end.

I wonder if I followed that red line to Point B, what might I find?  What might the planets tell us about how that Face Time call was received ?  Can you feel the leash tugging as we head off on the scent?

Part two of Apples and Worms will continue the story.

Man in the mirror

Looking back, in time, we reflect:

It started as a whine, like a puppy hungry for food, for love, for any attention from the nurturing parent, usually the mother.  When the puppy finds that this whining gets the attention he craves, he continues to pester his nurturer in a similar manner into adulthood – unless the nurturer accepts responsibility for their role and stops the cycle.  Is anyone listening?

He whimpers in self-pity until marriage provides a wife, someone to take over the nurturing role for this immature man. The whining continues, accelerating as children are born of the union. His children take priority with his nurturer, just as his younger siblings did when they were tiny. How dare their demands be greater than his? Me, me, me.  The rage continues.

Eventually he looks elsewhere for a more sympathetic nurturer, another woman who, in time, unwittingly believes she deserves to replace the wife.

This is a mistake a mistress should avoid making, for should she supplant the wife then she, herself, becomes the object of the whinging and the cycle continues.

This story is typical of a male child born with Mars conjunct South Node. A cycle spinning out of control.

Gerard Baden-Clay has Mars conjunct South Node and in the first house of his horoscope wheel – his ego.  Even to me as observer, this alignment shouts loud and clear – me! Me! ME!  Not only was no-one listening they must have been in another room in the house not to hear him.

The sign plastered across his windscreen in the used car lot would read, “Patience of a martyr required”.

Dare I also point out that Mars is in the zodiac sign of Virgo – the neat freak. Oh dear, I would not want to be responsible for doing his ironing.  HE wouldn’t want to be responsible for his ironing either, as Gerard Baden-Clay is his own worst critic.

And the lists! Oh boy, the lists!  He would’ve made lists in his sleep of things to be done. Not to forget schemes – the more hare/hair brained the better and not to forget Dr Google for self-diagnosis of all ills.  Mars in Virgo – whew! Makes me exhausted just writing the list.  But to more serious things:

The dark side of Gerard Baden-Clay is revealed by Mars (anger) in conjunction to the South Node (past issues). This is a difficult combination – often seen in disaster charts. This individual has been a walking disaster waiting to happen. The conjunction in earthy Virgo correlates with an angry overcritical perfectionist, who has been angry with his primary nurturers all his life.  This anger has been an internal volcano waiting to erupt.

If I were to put my psychotherapist hat on here, in this case, I do believe that Jungian therapies would assist in the emotional healing of the inner child and in my opinion, a form of ‘anima anxiety’ resides just beneath the surface.

The South Node can also represent the public persona of a character and this is the bright side, the ‘not in shadow’ personality of Gerard Baden-Clay – the Mars (action man) conjunct the South Node (his public face) in Virgo (good with detail, the mind of an accountant).  The two versions live together in the one person, no conflict here.

A career as an accountant would not be high profile enough for this young man.  He had his head tilted towards the sun – movement in the skies and aeroplanes would have held much more appeal. How he got to change his career to real estate is another story.  Maybe it was as simple as that the gold-coloured jacket appealed to his Leonine personality, although I am sure there are rumblings not too far off in my research in this regard.  Apart from possible air disasters, we have another disaster waiting to happen closer to home.

The ‘perceived wrong doing’ on the evening of 19 April, 2012, created the disaster waiting to happen.  We have to await a possible future trial in order to learn the facts of the evening in question and how the volcano came to erupt, however we can ask an astrological question.  Why this date?  Why Gerard Baden-Clay?

As far as Mars is concerned, on 19 April, 2012 transiting Mars in the heavens arrived, on that fateful eve, very innocently at 03degrees Virgo 51”.  This is the karmic event, when everything slotted into place.

If you refer to the birth chart of Gerard Baden-Clay you will see that at the time he was born Mars was at that very same point, 03degrees Virgo 46”. We have transiting Mars in exact conjunction with a natal Mars.  A natal Mars, which is already conjunct South Node. Now that’s a very volatile mix. The whine would have been reaching a scream, a crescendo in his head.

I could leave it at that and leave you agape, however in my fair-mindedness, I am obliged to tell you that Mars orbits around the Sun every couple of years (every 687 days in fact) so this is not the first time that Mars would have transited to this conjunction. Why did the accused lose it this time round, this conjunction in particular?

Well we know that he was under a lot of stress with financial woes, he had promised his mistress that he would leave his wife and be a free man in the immediate future. Their connection (man and mistress) would more than likely have been highly charged as an earthy and sometimes nervous sexuality, especially considering his positioning of Mars.

In a sense, his performance in bed would be similar to his work.

These people want to be good at what they do. Was there a hint of a problem in this area perhaps? He was already a failure in his work, financially. Was his love-life slipping as well?  This hints of a Venusian input to me.

Note: I do not have the birth details of his mistress and so until I do, I cannot confirm the above.  I would not be surprised to learn that her Venus was in a fire sign. Time will tell.

Note: Toni McHugh has Venus in Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) – that means more, more, more…

That aside, we are looking to the stars for our answers not listening to an argument that his defense team might put up, nor a pup’s whinging.

There is more in the sky than meets the eye.  On 19 April, 2012 far off Neptune is lined up in the heavens in opposition to natal Mars (mirroring in a way that only Neptune can); Venus is in opposition to Gerard Baden-Clay’s natal Neptune and the Sun is at the mid-heaven, opposing his natal Venus.

Venus will conjunct with Justice and her scales will hold the balance – a heart on one side and a feather on the other.

Leo and his pride

With Leo as the constellation of stars on the horizon at the time of Gerard Baden-Clay’s birth, his personality was set. The ascendant of his horoscope wheel is 17degrees Leo.  The Sun is the ruler of the zodiac sign of Leo and so the well known traits were there all ready for him to tuck into his old kit bag – a sunny disposition; an upturned round-ish face reflecting the Sun; a mane of golden hair (going bald just would not do for a Leo);  his little chest puffed out with pride. How could it all go wrong?

Lions and Pride, that’s what went wrong.  Leo personalities live with the ‘pride’ image up on the wall. Some discard it all as a lot of old cods wallop; a load of rot. Others have it drilled into them, especially if they have overly-proud parents as their nurturers.

In my opinion, British colonialism has a lot to answer for in this regard…  Pride was exploited to the ‘enth degree. Do I need to make a list of the exploitation of the lion in symbolism? I doubt it.

Maintaining a pride of lionesses – a wife and three daughters could have fulfilled that dream for Gerard Baden-Clay. Was he excessively proud?  Probably.  Spending the first ten years of his life in Africa does not make him a lion. The accused equates himself with the lion a bit too much, me thinks.

Pride and curses and revenge fill many a mythological story of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Let me share Homer’s story about when the Sun became enthralled by Venus, but before I do, a little background:

The planet Venus is that first bright star we see in the sky every evening and also the last star we see before the Sun rises.  We call them the Evening Star and the Morning Star, however in reality both stars are the planet, Venus.

The story is relevant to our purposes here, as the personality of Gerard Baden-Clay is bound up with the Leonine Sun; Venus is his Achilles heel and the planet Mars in the heavens on the night of 19 April, 2012 was in exact alignment by conjunction to his natal Mars.

Mars will be the subject of my next post, but for now though, we have the lion by the tail and there is no way I am going to let go.  And so to the other tale:

As the morning and evening star, Venus was most likely the first and last thing the Sun saw before retiring for the night so who could blame him (the Sun) for blurring the separation at nightfall, taking the vision of Venus with him into his dreams.

The Sun often rose too soon and Venus would have slipped away, sometimes he rose too late to catch sight of her and often he sank beneath the ocean at the end of the day, lingering to look upon her beauty.  The Sun became enthralled by Venus.

One morning as two lovers dallied as they tend to do, the Sun caught sight of their embrace. Revealed, the object of his love Venus, was entwined with Mars, the God of War. Pride raised the hackles on the back of his neck. His mane bristled. The Sun was not going to put up with this – Venus was… a married woman!

We are not told of the affairs of Venus in the modern era, however she was married to the god, Vulcan. We know of Vulcan as the Roman God of Fire (think volcanoes and black-smiths).

The Sun had loved the married Venus from afar, as a gentleman would, whereas Mars had seduced his Venus under the cover of darkness, a cowardly act in the Sun’s eyes. Curses simmered under his fiery breath. His chest puffed out with pride. He became indignant.

Seething with jealousy, the Sun contrived to betray his rival by sending word to the husband of Venus of the affair. Her husband, Vulcan flushed with rage when he heard the news and planned a way to ensnare the lovers.

Vulcan heaved his great anvil into its place, and began to forge a chain mesh with the skill of his blacksmith’s hands. A mesh so fine that not even a god would be aware of its presence.  Vulcan had not wasted his time at Arachne’s feet where he had learned the skill of the weaver.  With the fine net woven and set up to respond to the lightest touch, the slightest movement, Vulcan secured the mesh over the marriage bed. He set his snare.

Casually announcing that he had been called away to Lemnos, Vulcan left his palace only to return by a side door. Venus, in her lust, hastened to send word to her lover, Mars that an opportunity was theirs for a further tryst.  Mars threw caution to the wind and rushed to her embrace.

As the lovers entwined on the marriage bed, the trap was sprung, hauling them both into the air.  Enmeshed Venus and Mars’ coupling was exposed, thus making a fine tale and much merriment for the Olympian theatre.

Venus did not forgive the Sun for exposing her, causing him much unhappiness in the domain of love.

‘Tis not a good idea to mess with the affairs of Venus.

What has all this got to do with Gerard Baden-Clay?  On 19 April, 2012 the Sun in the sky was conjunct his M.C, the mid-heaven of the accused’s birth wheel; directly opposite to his Venus and in hard square aspect to transiting Mars as he rushes headlong towards his fate.

Sun and Moon combo

The first thing I look at with this horoscope for Gerard Baden-Clay is the combination of a Sun in Virgo and a Moon in Sagittarius.  This would produce a dreamer who thinks in large broad terms; a Virgo who consistently belies the nature of the sign. Virgo by nature is usually quite practical.

With this luminary (Sun and Moon) mix he would be capable of doing things that he probably disapproves of (morally or ethically) for the sake of adventure, romance, and excitement. He is definitely not a classic Virgo possessing a focused mind. IMO – many of the thoughts that run though his head bear little connection to everyday life.

Instead of looking inside himself, he seems to hold preconceived notions of what he is or would like to be. GBC can be so idealistic at times that it will be hard for anyone to meet his expectations.

He can spend a good part of his life just daydreaming so his present incarceration provides plenty of time to fulfill this need.

The accused’s challenge will always be to control his restless nature and concentrate on things that have true relevancy. He would have a tendency toward bluntness in dealing with other people and often they would take a tactless comment much more personally than was intended. Human sensitivities are something that he has difficulty understanding.

He can be very dramatic in all his actions, and likely has a good talent for acting. This being second nature to him would make his assessment within the Arthur Gorrie Corrective Centre a challenge for the prosecution’s team of behavioural psychiatrists and psychologists.
